Print on Demand Profit Calculator
With print on demand, the printer makes and ships each item, and you pay a base cost per order. Pick a product, set your price and shipping, and choose your shop's fee preset. The calculator shows what is left after base cost and every fee, your margin and the price for a target profit. Base costs differ by printer and change, so use the number from your print provider.
How it works
- Customer pays = your price + shipping you charge
- Fees = customer pays × percent fees + fixed fee + listing fee
- Profit = customer pays − base cost − printer's shipping − fees − ads
- Margin = profit ÷ customer pays
- Price for a target profit = (target + costs + fixed fees) ÷ (1 − percent fees), minus the shipping you charge
What it does not know
- Current fees and base costs. They change. Check your shop and print provider before you set prices.
- Sales tax and VAT. Some marketplaces collect it for you; your own tax is separate.
- Sales. Profit per item is not income until people buy. No income claims.
